The accessory buildings are sited on a flat shelf on the Kulsuwik property. Their backdrop is a 45’ high, 200’ long granite cliff that shelters the buildings on the south side. These buildings house parking, the mechanical room, laundry room, workshop, storage room and closets.
In order to insure that the buildings’ scale did not overwhelm the site an effort was made to create a series of small buildings consisting of solids and voids that frame the views of the environment through the juxtaposition of man’s manipulation of indigenous materials and the natural setting.
