Description
Reflecting the nature of the Lakeshore Vein & Aesthetics Clinic, the design intentionally breaks away from traditional clinical doctor’s office environment in order to create spaces that are beautiful and calming while maintaining a distinct professionalism.
Upon entering the facility patients are greeted by a welcoming reception area focused around an organically shaped island reception desk. The reception desk has been designed so that staff is able to easily interact with patients both who have just arrived and who are leaving and acts as a physical buffer between the waiting and checkout areas. The notion of the open plan found in the reception area is continued throughout the facility where the treatment rooms are pulled away from the perimeter walls which resulted in natural daylight spilling into all of the circulation paths creating a fresh and spacious feel.
Designing a layout that allowed patients, doctors, and nurses to easily move around each other without obstacle was of paramount importance. After working through several iterations we were able to come to a solution where there are no dead ends or dead spaces. This coupled with the softening of corners to curves has resulted in an office that has uninterrupted flow.
